Coffee’s story begins in the rugged highlands of Yemen — where some of the world’s first cultivated coffee plants were grown over 500 years ago.
Long before coffee spread across Europe and the rest of the world, Yemeni farmers were carefully cultivating coffee in terraced mountain farms, harvesting cherries by hand and drying them naturally under the sun. This method, still used today, gives Yemeni coffee its deep, complex flavor.
